9 of 11 Varsity teams advance into CCS this season

What a great 2016 Spring Season.  9 of 11 Varsity teams advance into CCS this season!  Please congratulate the following student-athletes:

Badminton:
Varsity:
3rd Place in El Camino Division
JV: 5th Place in El Camino Division

Shangyu Hsu and Primo Mu advanced to League Finals in Singles.
Kenneth Huang and Matthew Wu competed as Doubles in League Finals.

Gokul Kalyamasundaram advanced to CCS and took 1st Place as a Singles players! He also went to the Inaugural Nor-Cal Regional Championships and took 2nd Place!!

Baseball:
Varsity:
8th Place in De Anza Division (7th Place after League Playoffs)
F/S: 6th Place in De Anza Division

Diving:
(B) Varsity: 4th Place in De Anza Division
      F/S: 1st Place in De Anza Division
(G) Varsity: 5th Place in De Anza Division
      JV: 4th Place in De Anza Division

The Mustangs sent 6 qualifiers to this year’s 2016 CCS Diving Championship.

The boys division had 33 competitors with the Mustangs filling out 4 of these slots. Congratulations to the following boys:
Dalton Miner – 9th place
David Truong – 20th place
Bryce Leone – 22nd place
Adrian Nakic- 27th place

The girls division had 38 competitors with the Mustangs filling 2 of these slots.  Congratulations to the following girls:
Anna Dupin – 28th place

Team finishes 4th at leagues

The Homestead varsity golf team competed in the highly competitive SCVAL golf finals held on Tuesday May 3rd at Santa Theresa golf course.  The Mustangs finished a successful season by placing 4th overall in leagues with a team score of 408.

Team defeats Los Altos

Last week the golf team had an exciting finish to their season by defeating Los Altos and guaranteeing 3rd place in the De Anza division of the SCVAL.

Nikhil Sharma shot a 4-under par 32 and Joson Ralph shot a 3 under par 33 to send the Mustangs back to the league tournament as a team for the first time in 13 years.

Team defeats Fremont

The Mustang golf team defeated Fremont yesterday by a score of 207 to 237.

Juniors Nikhil Sharma and “JuJuBee” Buonnano tied for medalist honors  and lead the way with very impressive scores of 38.

Team defeats Cupertino

On Monday the Mustang golf team took on district rival Cupertino and walked away with a 208 to 217 win.

Win one, lose one

The HHS Varsity golf team started this week with a nice win over Mt. View by a score of 217 to Mt. View’s 223, but yesterday were edged out by four strokes in a tough match with Gunn High School.

Joson Ralph shot a very nice one over par 35, in tough windy conditions and Ryan Flynn contributed his best round of the year in the close contest. In the end, Gunn prevailed 199 to 203.… read more

The Mustangs fell to golf powerhouse Palo Alto yesterday for their first loss of the year.

The Mustang golf team played their first match yesterday against Mt. View in some very tough, windy conditions.

· 4/30—Congratulations to the Homestead Golf Team for a third place finish in the highly competitive SCVAL DeAnza.

· Individually, Junior Joson Ralph and Sophomores Julius Buonanno and Nikhil Sharma qualified for League Finals at Santa Teresa golf course.

· Joson Ralph shot a 77 to finish in 7th place individually and will move on to compete in the CCS qualifier.

· 4/8—The Homestead golf team lit up the Firebirds winning the match by over thirty strokes!

· Joson Ralph captured medalist honors with a one over par score of 36. Julius Buonanno and Sam Todd also added their best scores of the season to scorch Fremont 203 to 233.

· The golf team ends the season in third place with a respectable 7-5 record and has the chance to advance to league finals

· 3/31—On Tuesday the Mustangs fell to top ranked Palo Alto. On the bright side, Homestead’s balanced scoring gave Palo Alto its closest match to date in losing 182 to 208. Sam Todd shot his low round of the season with a very nice score of 41.

· 3/25—The Mustangs left the Cupertino Pioneers in their dust. Julius Buonanno and Ryan Flynn lead the scoring attack by earning co-medalist honors shooting three over par 38’s. Sam Todd, Joson Ralph and Quentin Warmke also contributed with their low competitive rounds for the year.
